DESIGNER's insight

For this work created for Seeley Chiropractic, my intention was to merge aesthetics, functionality, and education in an innovative way that reflects both the clinic’s purpose and its holistic approach to health and well-being. Konto panels provide a clean and tactile surface ideal for artistic intervention and light integration. This combination transforms the entire wall into an immersive, multisensory experience that engages both sight and sound.

The central theme of the piece is the human spine, symbolizing health, structure, and balance. I divided the spine into distinct sections, each represented by a different color, to highlight the diversity, complexity, and interconnectedness of the human body, as well as the clinic’s broad range of therapeutic services. Each color segment corresponds to a specific region of the spine, and through the projection of light, the work gains an additional educational dimension that enhances its visual and conceptual impact.

This piece aims to establish a visual conversation between the viewer and the underlying concept of healthcare, emphasizing the vital role the spine plays in maintaining a healthy, balanced body. It is a carefully crafted fusion of form and function, art and science, designed to subtly inform, engage, and inspire visitors about the value of an integrated, whole-body approach to health.

Virgil did a fantastic job installing his product in my
Chiropractic clinic, it served two purposes, firstly he used his artistic eye to design an excellent educational design to teach customers about my products, secondly it served as sound proofing.

The process - from vision to detail

  • CONCEPT AND VISUALIZATION

The spine was taken as both subject and structure. From brain to coccyx, each vertebra was designed in full scale, cut from Konto acoustic panels, and colored to define the five regions. LED lighting runs through the work, allowing individual sections of the spine to be highlighted or dimmed during a consultation. The result is a surface that absorbs sound while displaying anatomy with precision. It works as a teaching tool for practitioners, a point of orientation for patients, and a strong visual statement in the clinic’s interior. The wall invites attention: some look at it as art, others as science, and many as both at once.

  • IN THE WORKSHOP
  • ON-SITE INSTALLATION

Thanks to the precise design of all components, including the channels for electrical wiring and the LED light paths, the wall installation was carried out with relative ease. The pivot of the entire composition was the existing teaching panel, which was kept in place and continues to be used by the doctor for sketches and patient explanations. All other pieces were mounted in relation to this element, with the final alignment to the floor and the right-hand wall achieved perfectly.
